At the heart of the Tarn mountains and at the confluence of several valleys, the Three Valleys Zoo is one of the largest in the South West of France. The zoo of the 3 valleys covers 58 hectares with 1200 animals of 140 different species and more than 10 hectares under development. In addition 150 hectares of plantations are intended to provide for their food.
Located in Montredon-Labessonnié, in the Midi Pyrénées region, in an exceptional rural and landscaped setting, this park offers a quality of first quality that meets the objectives of sustainable development specific to the mission of zoos: recreation, pedagogy, conservation species, awareness of biodiversity and its challenges.
In addition, vast valleys or plains of 2.5 to 20 hectares in seven sites, allow groups of animals to evolve for some of them almost autonomously. For example, a 10-hectare African plain has been created where groups of zebras gallop freely with their young, alongside wildebeest, and antelope. The insertion of animals in the singular setting offered by the Agoût valley offers visitors an unprecedented relationship with life and biodiversity.
The organization of the site has been designed to allow an intimate emotional connection.Indeed, the site visit does not follow any academic classifications from naturalistic or even geographical sciences, but it poses in a succession of scenes, according to the accidents of ground, its woods, its streams, its green valleys, a set of animated paintings where the human eye keeps on crossing what brings it closer and distinguishes it from the animal species represented here.
